Deutsche Gesellschaft für Membrantechnik e.V. (DGMT) (German Association for Membrane Technology)
It is declared aim of DGMT to promote membrane technology and its application in Germany. DGMT sees itself as company-neutral mediator between the users of membrane processes and the companies specialized in membrane technology.
DECHEMA Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V.
(Association for Chemical Technology and Biotechnology)
DECHEMA is a non-profit-making scientific-technical association with seat in Frankfurt on the Main, founded in 1926. Its members are more than 5,000 scientists, engineers, companies, organizations and institutions. DECHEMA’s task is to actively assist the development of chemical technologies and processes and to adapt new findings from research and development to practice.
In January 2005, the Center for Desalination Research and Capacity Building e.V. (Ce-Des) was founded in Duisburg. Aim of Ce-Des is to bundle the existing knowledge in the field of water desalination and to establish a research-, transfer- and training centre. In the medium term, these activities are supposed to bring water desalination plants more and more into the focus of attention, in particular with view to export.
Ce-Des is promoted by the body responsible for projects, FZ Karlsruhe, Department of Water Technology and Waste Disposal, and by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MIWFT) of the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).
